French Laundry Vet Coming to Inland Empire

Speaking of Patina alums, Greg Stillman, the Leatherby’s Café Rouge vet who had his start as a line cook at French Laundry after graduating from CIA, is heading to Rancho Cucamonga’s Victoria Gardens to open a new restaurant named Ra Pour in the middle of this month. Ra Pour is the first fine-dining project from Karim Webb, a franchisee of two Buffalo Wild Wings locations (Torrance and Baldwin Hills) who also plans Gold Medal Fish Grill next year. What can you expect?

Ra Pour

Ra Pour, with a look by Hyde and Supper Club “lifestyle architect” Bee Nguyen**, will serve as a globally-influenced modern U.S. restaurant and DJ-centric lounge ,with a stage for live shows.

In addition to tasting menus at the chef’s table, the a la carte menu will include boisterous takes on chicken and waffles, lobster pops, cola-brined pork, duck bolognese, and wood-fried pizzas. Cocktails will be constructed with help from Portland bar-star Ryan Magarian in a space that includes a waterfall, open kitchen, and wrap-around patio. Buffalo’s biz must be good these days, as it sounds like Webb is going all out for this one. Ra Pour will open at first for dinner, before lunch is added a few weeks following its debut.

Ra Pour, Victoria Gardens, 7900 Kew Ave. Rancho Cucamonga.

** This post has been corrected to reflect that Bee Nguyen is not the interior decorator, as previously reported, but the “lifestyle architect.” Architect David Senninger is actually responsible for the interior design, while Nguyen is responsible for “the vibe/aesthetic/atmosphere,” according to the restaurant’s PR arm.
