Wexler at workPhoto: Mezze
Last time we checked in on Mezze chef Micah Wexler, he was merging classic Jewish deli dishes with his artistic arsenal of eastern Mediterranean, North African, and Middle Eastern-influenced recipes. Come Christmas Eve, Wexler is expanding on this deli dream with a "Very Jewish Christmas Eve" menu highlighting the chef's memories of childhood meals past in Semitic selections like his grandma's chopped chicken livers with grape mostarda and challah, smoked sablefish with lebne and pickled shallots, matzoball soup, and brisket shawarma. In addition to the nostalgic fare, Mezze will also serve its usual menu that night (we think lamb bacon is kosher...). See the full selection of Jewish eats coming to Mezze on December 24th below and make reservations at 310-657-4103.
