Blue Palms Threatened With Closure, But Still Serving The Sugar Bowl

Blue Palms Brewhouse

Facebook fans and Twitter followers are sounding the battle cry for Blue Palms Brewhouse, the Hollywood headquarters of the craft beer revolution. On Friday evening, The L.A. Times shelled the city with horrible news that, due to the loss of the lease at Music Box at The Henry Fonda Theater, the attached beer bar, consistently cited as one of the city's most dedicated, is facing a forced closure as well.

Owner Brian Lenzo tells the paper that Blue Palms is a sub-lease of the concert hall, which is itself rumored to be reopening, and will be tossed out of the space, though Lenzo is attempting to negotiate directly with the property owner for a reprieve. While a closure was originally slated for last night, the restaurant just tweeted in the last half-hour, "We'll be open normal hours tonight, & will be showing the Sugar Bowl." Hopefully, the party will continue beyond the game, as losing Blue Palms would be a deeply felt shutter for the city's blooming ale appreciation.
