Chef Kris Morningstar of Ray’s is also riffing on The John Sedlar Experiment this season, with plans for a Latin American-influenced dinner in collaboration with culinary history education organization ArtBites! Next Thursday, January 12th, ArtBites founder Maite Gomez-Rejon will tour a group through LACMA’s “Contested Visions in the Spanish Colonial World” exhibit for an hour. Once the guided adventure concludes, Morningstar is planning a menu with ingredients like cocoa, chilies, masa, and purple corn for dishes like picadillo-stuffed peppers and venison loin, while sommelier Paul Sanguinetti will offer an optional alcohol pairing that doesn’t include chicha morada, but will showcase various wines. Reservations for next Thursday’s museum tour and four-course dinner are available for $90 through ArtBites’ website. See Morningstar’s full planned menu below.
