Gunfire Kills One, Wounds Another at Pink Pepper; MS13 and 18th Street Gangs War at The Mayan
Hours before members of 18th Street and MS13 became embroiled in an argument outside of The Mayan early Saturday morning, resulting in a shooting that killed one and wounded three, police already had a double shooting on their hands in Hollywood. On Friday night, sometime after 10:00 P.M., a woman was killed and a man was wounded by gunfire on the patio of Tony Boon's 22-year-old Thai restaurant Pink Pepper on North La Brea.
The L.A. Times' latest report posits that an argument occurred on the eatery's patio between a man and a woman, leading to the brandishing of a firearm that the woman then tried to grab. She was shot in the scuffle and later pronounced dead at the hospital, while the man was shot twice and is expected to survive. The original story had police looking for two assailants, who supposedly fled together in a car, while authorities are unclear as to whether the victim knew the shooter. Currently, these tragic events are still being pieced together and some uncertainty hampers a clear breakdown. What is clear following the deadly weekend? You really can never be too careful out there.
