Let The Boozy Brunching Begin: Bagatelle Opens Today in West Hollywood

Bagatelle, New York's bastion of bottles-and-brunching, officially opens today on La Cienega. A playground for one-percenters pining for more "exclusivity" than SBE has to offer, Bagatelle comes from Entertainment 720 Brand Essence owners Aymeric Clemente and Remi Laba, in conjunction with STK founders The ONE Group. What will be served alongside oh-so-much bubbly?

Chef Scott Quinn, a vet of Bouchon, will be in the kitchen overseeing French Mediterranean dishes with signatures including pickled pork belly with Sauternes-poached apples, foie gras terrine, and roasted chicken with truffles for two on a menu that will supposedly change with the seasons.

If the restaurant's plans to stock DJs aside your meals on Wednesday and Saturday gets a little too techno-y for your tastes, sidewalk seating offers an al fresco option, while glass doors keep the situation separated, opening to the outside when it's time to bring the party together, which Bagatelle's reps say will "allow the restaurants energy to spill on to the Boulevard, creating a playful and interactive relationship with the city of Los Angeles and its purveyors."

The opening of Bagatelle reinforces La Cienega's emerging Euro-zone stronghold, joining nearby restaurants like Fig & Olive, Rose, and in-development Mari Vanna in providing fine-dining for displaced European elites.

UPDATE: In an effort to be taken more seriously than it's been perceived in New York, owner Clemente tells The Hollywood Reporter that brunch won't be served in L.A. for a while, and maybe never.
