A sweep for The Artist this Sunday could also be a boost for Cicada’s captivating space in Downtown. According to MSNBC, the art-deco restaurant figured in two key scenes in the Oscar-nominated silent film, when the characters Peppy and George both dine, separately, prior to their premiere. The restaurant had an even more famous role, years ago as the setting for Richard Gere and Julia Robert’s glamorous dinner in Pretty Woman. [MSNBC]
