You're not the only one drooling for a taste of LudoBites on the last day of iteration eight, as sports blog The Post Game reveals the unlikely pairing of pro athletes with Ludo Lefebvre. We're told Warren Sapp is a massive fan of the French chef, who prepared a "fancy tomato salad with mozzarella ice cream" for the defensive end the first time they met. "And he loved it," Ludo claims, "He ordered two or three." Ludo also says Sapp is a fan of his fried chicken, detailing his prep for the former defensive tackle. "I make like two whole fried chickens for him at a time," the chef says, sharing a special place in Sapp's heart alongside his mother. It turns out Sapp isn't the only sports legend who loves Ludo.
Lefebvre can count on fans like MMA fighter Josh Barnett, volleyball Olympian Holly McPeak, and Clippers point guard Chris Paul as devotees, wile we get a giggle reading the jock world draw parallels between cooking and sports (The James Beard Rising Star Award is called "the Heisman for up and coming chefs," which almost makes up for a total lack of Jeremy Lin references).
While Ludo is flattered by his fans in the world of football, volleyball, and grown guys who beat the shit out of each other, as a European, he'd be keen on cooking for one of soccer's biggest names, telling the blog, "I would love to cook for David Beckham." We have no doubt that could be arranged and suggest Becks gets his butt in gear before the chef flies off to Hawaii for LudoBites 9.
