Where to Eat Tomorrow for Mardi Gras

What better reason to get your eat and drink on than Fat Tuesday? Tomorrow many of your favorite restaurants are hosting Mardi Gras parties with special cocktails, menus, and more. The hottest tickets are Boxing Room’s $2 oysters, duck and sausage jambalaya, and live jazz; and Town Hall’s ninth annual blow-out bash.

Live New Orleans jazz and blues, Gulf oyster specials, Abita Mardi Gras bock on tap, duck and sausage jambalaya, and king cake. Reservations are recommended.

Town Hall

$60 in advance, $75 at the door

Grab you’re beads, boas, and masks because Town Hall is known for throwing one of the best Mardi Gras’ parties around and this year will be no different. On the menu: fried chicken, jambalaya, gumbo, etouffée, barbecued shrimp, and oysters. Abita beer and Louisiana-style hurricanes. Music by D’Amphibians with live samba dancers.

Along with the regular Front Porch menu, diners can enjoy a special shrimp boil. If you find the plastic baby in their king cake, you’ll get a gift certificate to the restaurant.

Although it’s normally closed on Tuesday’s, Brenda’s will be open for a Mardi Gras party tomorrow night.

For just $25, you get a choice of seafood jambalaya, bowl of gumbo, or their famous fried chicken along with a house made slurricane and a piece of king cake for dessert.

Other places that are sure to be packed, because they serve Southern-style fair, are Elite Cafe, Magnolia Brewery and Pub, 1300 on Fillmore, and Pican in Oakland.
