Praise be to Tlalocan for L.A. Downtown News, which helps us breach the L.A. Times' paywall today (yep, our monthly limit is up already) with the story that the neighborhood's Figat7th shopping complex will open this fall with several new eateries, including a burger concept named Juicy Lucy from Savory chef Paul Shoemaker. Joining Shoemaker will also be Jimmy Shaw's Loteria Grill, LAMill Coffee, and a new concept called Oleego from Park's BBQ founder Jenee Kim, who survived an avalanche of praise from Jonathan Gold this weekend in his "Counter Intelligence" column. What else can you expect coming to Figat7th?

The $40 million project will also welcome a place called Indus for Indian eating from Ambrosia's Bhupender Singh and a new location of Choppe Choppe, the salad and sandwich shop opened and quickly closed in Culver City by Jeffrey Price.

Shoemaker, who already kills it with his stripped-down cooking and super-select foraging at Savory in Malibu and has garnered praise for his burger, will likely be tackling the "Juicy Lucy" itself at his new burger restaurant of the same name. The burger is a famous Mid-Western arrangement where cheese is folded into the patty itself, squeezing out at lava-like temperatures when bitten into.

Expect the restaurants to debut in October with the rest of the complex (Target included), while an additional twelve restaurant locations could be up for grabs following the grand opening.
