This Friday night, hairy ginger comedian Brian Posehn is teaming up with Corey Helford Gallery at Dragonfly to emcee the reprisal of Hollywood’s “Miss Hooker Pageant,” which doesn’t honor the hard-working, street-walking ladies of the night, but is named because organizer and painter Natalia Fabia deems every artist a hooker in their own way (we admit, we’ll do anything for a taste of guac). The pageant, described as part-burlesque spectacle, part-improvised talent show, will seek to “highlight real women in Hollywood’s music and art scene” and “applauds beauty, brains and brawn” in a night high on satire.
Included over the event is an “evening gown” style-competition, interviews with the contestants, a talent portion featuring celebrity judges Dave “Will Seemingly Appear at Anything These Days” Navarro and Traci Lords, as well as a song from 2008’s winner, one Miss One Dolla No Holla.
Admission is $10 at the door and precedes Fabia’s “Hookers” exhibit opening up at Corey Helford the next day. Check out the full details right here.
