In a Q&A; with Eater, Providence master Michael Cimarusti delves deeper into his plans for Connie & Ted’s, the New England-style seafood restaurant he’s bringing to the old location of Silver Spoon diner in West Hollywood. The chef says construction is starting more or less from the ground up and Cimarusti is hoping for a debut this fall. As to what will hit your plate, he calls it “the type of food I would eat in the summers in Rhode Island,” and includes clam cakes, steamers, and lobster rolls in that selection. Last summer, Cimarusti stoked the crowds at Suzanne Goin’s L.A. Loves Alex’s Lemonade event with a delectable sneak-peek at the kind of fare he may be next obsessing on through a taste of clam chowder, over which dangled a clam cake from his grandma’s recipe.
