Wow, who knew a second location of Pink Taco would reveal a treasure chest of the city’s secrets? The Hollywood Reporter spends a moment with Harry Morton, the head-taco-in-charge of the sequel coming to Sunset. Morton explains that the construction process has unveiled traces of the location’s original celebrity supper club, Preston Sturges’ Players Club, the director’s eponymous establishment that ruled The Strip from 1940 to 1953 before a constant reincarnation into places including Miyagi’s and The Roxbury. Morton claims he’s uncovered the entry to the club’s once-infamous VIP tunnel, which helped usher VIPs here from the nearby Chateau Marmont without being molested by paparazzi, now sealed. In addition, he’s found a revolving circular stage from out under the dance floor, which could play a part at Pink Taco. Morton says, “When I first got into this place, it had years of shit piled on top…But when I stripped it all down, incredible things came to light.”
