Takashi To Host Iron Chef Dinner… As Iron Chef Airs

Takashi Yagihashi, vs. who?
Takashi Yagihashi, vs. who?

Here’s taking interactivity (not to mention TV dinners) to a new height. Takashi Yagihashi of Takashi and Slurping Turtle will be the contestant on Iron Chef America on April 1st (no foolin’). And he’ll be recreating the food he made on the show as it airs and serving it to a small number of guests at Takashi, in real time. So you get to watch the show, and you get to eat the food at the same time. We’ve heard of things kind of like that, but we don’t know that any other Iron Chef contestant has ever simulated his experience so precisely. The hitch is… because it’s part of the suspense of the show, they are releasing precisely NO details about what the menu will be. The menu will only be handed out to diners as the secret ingredient is revealed on the air. So you’re flying blind booking a table here, but if you feel like gambling on a $100 menu (with optional wine pairing for $50), it should be worth the bet. Hors d’oeuvres start at 8, dinner and the show start at 9; space is quite limited, as you know if you’ve been to Takashi, so call 773-772-6170 for reservations.
