Here’s some change we can believe in: The space that used to house Strongbox, the erstwhile Rittenhouse bar that failed miserably at delivering on its promise of serving an all V.I.P. clientele, is finally getting a new tenant. And it sounds like the concept is a little bit more palatable than bottle service and velvet ropes. Le Bec-Fin vet David Smith plans to open La Petite Dauphine, a casual but sophisticated French cafe and BYOB, the Insider reports. And he expects o have it up and running by mid-May. At first it will operate as a coffee shop in the mornings, and serve an all-day menu. Dinner service is coming sometime in the near future. [Insider]
