The Tripel Turning One, The Bruery Bringing Barrel-Aged Beers

The Bruery

On Monday, April 16th, Brooke Williamson and Nick Roberts' Playa del Rey gastro-joint, The Tripel, is getting Orange County to haul some tipple to the table for its first birthday party. Suds-specialists from Placentia's The Bruery will bring five of its scarcer, often uniquely-aged beers to the seaside over a $65 pre-fixe menu that includes the chefs' bouillabaisse of coconut and lime leaves with bourbon shrimp toast, paired with a blend of bourbon barrel-aged wheat wine with Belgian strong ale, and duck done two-ways and paired with a rye barrel-aged imperial porter. The night ends with the chefs' house-made sugar rushes and starts with a beer called "Mother Funker," which means The Bruery better be the first one on the floor. Or maybe that's not an option, as only 30 seats are saved for this small spot's b-day bash. All others can come drink The Bruery's brews (brues?) after 9:00 P.M., when they'll keep the party going until closing time. Reservations at 310-821-0333, check out the full menu below.
