Beef bowl-boss Yoshinoya grand-opened a new concept this morning in Fullerton. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at ten for Asiana Grill Yoshinoya, the brand’s jump into the growing mix-it-yourself fast food genre made famous by chains like Subway and Chipotle and being attempted today with Indian food (Saffron), Korean (Bibigo), and sushi (How Do You Roll?, U-Sushi). How will this work with Japanese grilling?

At Asiana, guests are offered their choice of protein, which will be cooked in the style of either teppanyaki or yakitori depending on what it is, then placed in or on the customer’s choice of bun, salad, soup, or plate, with a list of proprietary sauce options.

The new concept strives for a low-fat approach here, plans to franchise, and may be eying Marina del Rey and the USC area for its next branches. And for any one missing the actual Yoshinoya that was once here, the brand is even keeping its beef bowls on hand at Asiana just to keep you happy.
