Since getting the boot from the final ten on Masterchef last summer, Chicago-born, Venezuela-raised, L.A.-based chef Alejandra Schrader has materialized here and there in a number of demos while also organizing her own catering company, Cucina Cocina with former competitor Tracy Kontos. This Saturday, Schrader is popping up at The Brewery Arts Complex with two seatings for an event called “Gastro,” a beer-pairing dinner featuring the wares of Firemen’s Brew and the chef’s four-course menu. Schrader will raid her CSA box for dishes like beer-braised pulled pork sliders with root truffle chips and a wild rocket salad and beer-glazed, grass-fed brisket with heirloom cabbage, parsley chimichurri, and figs. See Schrader’s full $45 menu below and make reservations online for the 6:00 P.M. seating as the later one is sold out.
