Shortly before midnight on Saturday, a drunk driver being pursued by LAPD officers flew off the 5 freeway and through a red light, smashing into a large crowd gathered at the unnamed taco truck outside of a Lucy’s laundromat at 1955 Cesar Chavez Boulevard. The accident killed both a 19-year-old and 38-year-old woman, destroyed the lonchera, and injured two people working inside the truck and another man in the parking lot. NBC notes that the heartbreaking accident “traumatized” the neighborhood. [NBC]
