Susan Feniger is no stranger to penning cookbooks; She and her Border Grill amigita, Mary Sue Milliken, even penned Mexican Cooking for Dummies on top of bookshelf mainstays like Mesa Mexicana and The City Cookbook. On July 17, Feniger’s latest will hit stores (real and online), a cookbook based on international street food recipes, carrying over the themes and recipes found at her Hollywood restaurant, Street, and written with help from Street’s executive chef, Kajsa Alger, and Feniger’s girlfriend, filmmaker Liz Lachman. What’s inside?

Susan Feniger’s Street Food: Irresistibly Crispy, Creamy, Crunchy, Spicy, Sticky, Sweet Recipe combines 83 street food recipes and 100 color photos from around the world in 224 pages, relaying the experiences of her world travels with recipes for dishes like black kale crostini with Spanish anchovies, sesame-crusted banana fritters, Thai drunken shrimp, Korean short ribs, and the Japanese tatsutage chicken that rocked Jody Adams’ world along with sweets like Turkish doughnuts with rose hip jam, plus recipes for drinks and sauces. Feniger’s next tome can be pre-ordered online for $27.50 through her website. We’d pay twice that for a Feniger book that teaches us how to smile naturally in photos.
