After springing a new location on Costa Mesa in early April, Umami Burger continues its push into Orange County with the opening this Wednesday of Umami Laguna Beach at 1:00 P.M. No word yet on what the locally-themed burger may be (Update: it will be a $15 lemon miso crab melt with burrata, baby heirloom tomatoes, and lemon miso dressing), but the look will be consistent with its seaside positioning, centered on the ocean and SoCal beach culture. In other Umami news (and isn’t there always more Umami Burger news?), the brand is also exploring its prospects in Pasadena, planning a forthcoming location in Old Town that is promised to be “sleek, modern, and minimalist,” with a look apparently inspired by Colorado Boulevard’s neighboring Apple Store.
