213 Nightlife opened a new location of Seven Grand Whiskey Bar in San Diego this week. Set in the city’s North Park neighborhood, Cedd Moses and Eric Needleman tapped Patry + Kline to design the 4,100-square foot space in the style of an old hunting lodge, with all the taxidermy, manly woods, Scottish tartans, and leather booths you’d expect, as well as the inclusion of a patio intended for stogie puffers. In addition to a global array of whiskeys and the same cocktail list you’ll find on Downtown’s Seventh Street, this new Southern-most Seven Grand has a beer list designed by its GM, because after all, it’s still San Diego. Next month, the bar, which is 213’s first venture out of L.A., will add to its booze bounty with live jazz and blues sans a cover charge.
