PR for The Churchill and The Hudson send word that a new nightlife and hospitality unit named Cardiff Giant is slated to take over the former Voyeur
RNC haunt space in Hollywood, which was recently rumored to become a western branch of the New York City hotspot The Box. Coming from part of the team of owners behind Hudson and Churchill, Cardiff Giant's forthcoming new nightclub here is currently under an extensive renovation, with plans to open early next year.
Named for a famous hoax that scandalized the States through the faked discovery of a 10-foot man's petrified remains, Cardiff Giant may also be taking over space at the old Heinz loading dock in Downtown, with more of a restaurant-based concept, also planning to open in 2013. The company tells Grub Street that the Voyeur takeover will only be the start of the company's spread, as other deals are currently in the works for Hollywood and Downtown, with aspirations for local domination. Still, it always makes sense to remain at least a little leery of the best laid schemes of mice and giants.
