L Bar, an obscure Sunset Strip bar with no sign that “only a room full of people” know about, is not-so-surprisingly closing next week, reports L.A. Weekly, bemoaning the demise of its favorite late-night “almost obstacle-course-style dance party” while so many douche-a-terias continue to thrive on the block. The bar announces its coming dissolution on Facebook, promising to “send the old girl off proper for L’s farewell evening on Saturday August 4th.” No reason is given for the closure, though it sounds like a life lived lingering in the shadows might have made it too cool to thrive among its splashier neighbors.
