That sprawling entertainment complex that we told you developer Michael Samschick hoped to build in the former Ajax Metal Works facility near Delaware Avenue and Frankford Avenue won over the majority of neighbors assembled at last night’s Fishtown Neighbors Association meeting, which means the plan is one step closer to becoming a reality. Foobooz reports that the project, which is now going by the name Canal Street North, will be run as a Fillmore Theater venue, operated by Live Nation. And the distillery part of the scheme will reportedly be a new, more user-friendly facility for Philadelphia Distilling Company, makers of Bluecoat Gin, Penn 1681 Vodka, and XXX Shine White Whiskey.
