Federal Judge Stephen Wilson struck down a proposed pause in California’s foie gras ban at court hearing in L.A. today, thwarting a clique of U.S. and Canadian foie producers and vendors who hoped to see enforcement of the ban cease while its constitutionality was further probed. Wilson plans to issue a later ruling on his decision, while a lawsuit filed by the pro-foie forces, which includes Hudson Valley and the owner of L.A.’s Hot’s Kitchen, will see a lawsuit they filed in July have its day in court in the near future.
