Pie Face Opening in Murray Hill; Meet José Andrés Tonight

• Twenty-four-hour Australian meat-pie purveyors Pie Face will open their second Stateside location on Tuesday, September 18, in Murray Hill (507A Third Ave. at 34th St.). In celebration, the new shop will offer free pies on Tuesday, September 18, free coffee on Wednesday, September 19, and free pies again on Friday, September 21, from 1:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. [Grub Street]

• Brooklyn’s Vinegar Hill House is coming to not-a-strip-club Westway for their weekly pop-up series. On Thursday, September 13, starting at 11 p.m., VHH’s chef Brian Leth will be serving up fish filet sandwiches and poutine. [Grub Street]

• The 9th annual Chef One dumpling-eating contest is going off Saturday at Smorgasburg in Williamsburg. Dumplings will be available to spectators (five for $3).
