Lest we have to shoulder even one more reason to be jealous of Hawaiians, Melisse chef-owner Josiah Citrin is promising it won’t be long before L.A. tastes his Sure Thing Burger, the grass-fed, natural beef and pork patty concept he quietly sprung on Maui this past winter with partner Scott Picard.

Today Food GPS reports that Citrin, a double Michelin-starred surfer long synonymous with Westside L.A., is scouting locations in Downtown for Sure Thing Burger, which should make Santa Monica’s Hawaiian-themed Shaka Shack burger joint breathe a sigh of relief. To affirm his commitments to the mainland, Citrin then tweeted back to the blog, telling its editor, “[You] will be enjoying STB in LA soon.” Considering the praise his pork burger, with griddled shoulder and belly on toasted brioche with Kona coffee barbecue sauce, this truly onolicious news bodes well for the city.
