Not so long ago, Kevin Sbraga tagged along with Phillymag to check out the overpriced gruel edible offerings being served during Phillies games at Citizens Bank Park. Now with football season in full swing, the Top Chef champ is going one better for the Eagles and their fans. He’s contributing his own signature sandwich to the stadium’s roster of gameday grub. His contribution, the Sloppy Jose, is a cumin-, cinnamon- and coriander-spiced short rib and chorizo stuffed into a toasted sesame roll, and topped with Chihuahua cheese and a spicy chipotle-lime slaw. According to the Insider, the delicious, sloppy mess will be available at Lincoln Financial Field’s club level during Eagles games for $14.
For football fans not attending games at the Linc. — or those simply pre-gaming on the fancy tip — Nathan Volz, who you’ll recall took the lead at 10 Arts after Jen Carroll bowed out, is offering a “Tailgate Tastes” menu in the restaurant’s lounge. Riffing on the food typically found at most professional sports outings, Volz’s menu puts forth things like caramel corn, warm soft pretzels, mini pork sliders, and hot waffles ice cream sandwiches, and it can all be yours with a local beer for $20.
