How To Get Your Own Tap at Beer Belly and Your Own Ice Cream Flavor at Scoops Westside
A new user-supported online funding platform called Smallknot launches today in L.A. to help raise money for small neighborhood businesses. Launched by two Harvard grads, current campaigns on the site include a $12,000 fundraiser for Beer Belly to build an outdoor patio, while Scoops Westside is seeking $8,000 to double its ice cream supply with a new freezer, and a forthcoming place in Pasadena named Float is looking for $1,000 to preview its wares at the Taste of South Lake event. The website is currently open to Mom n' Pop businesses of all stripes and lest you think it's a one-way street, Beer Belly is offering incentives for donations that include brunch for two for a $50 donation or your own personalized tap for a week with three free daily brews in exchange for $125. Meanwhile Scoops Westside will even help you create your own flavor for a $150 investment.
