We've never heard of a barbecue joint called the Bear Pit in L.A.'s San Fernando Valley, despite the restaurant being more than 50 years old. Which is a shame, because it also means we've never seen this truly astounding local commercial. The 30-second clip is some kind of a honky-tonk rap track that drops science on the merits of the restaurant's barbecue plates, with a flow that is vastly superior to that Whole Foodsparking-lot guy. If this was Kristen Wiig doing the song alongside the SNL cast, it would probably all make sense. But without that context, we're sort of stymied. Is this absolute genius-at-work or just another really terrible local ad? (And is that a self-censored F-bomb the wholesome M.C. drops at the :23 second mark?) Take a look, and let us know what you think in the comments.
