Ferragamo, Gucci, Chanel, and soon, discount groceries for the 99%. Yes, the 99-Cent Store chain is hoping to establish a budget-friendly beachhead on Rodeo Drive, with the company’s president confident that he “would certainly sell significantly more product at our 99¢ Only Stores than any other merchant on Rodeo Drive,” even if it takes a roughly two thousand rings of the register to rival the value of a single handbag at Fendi.
