L.A. Downtown News sets the stage for a 7,081-square-foot liquor market called Ramirez Central, planning to open at Fifth and Alameda next spring. The "booze emporium" comes from the family behind 17-year-old Ramirez Liquor in Boyle Heights and will specialize in tequila, mezcal, specialty sodas, and craft beer, with room for a cigar humidor and a 500-foot tasting room. The paper calls it a "mom-and-pop version of Bev Mo" and reports that owners are looking for letters of support to pass all needed approvals. [LADTN]
