Rory Herrmann, the skilled chef de cuisine at Bouchon Bevery Hills since its opening nearly three years ago, has moved on from Keller’s kitchen, Grub Street learns. Herrmann rose through the kitchen at Robert Redford’s Sundance resort prior to gaining a name in New York while working at Alain Ducasse at the Essex Hotel and with Dan Barber at Blue Hill, before helping Keller open Per Se and eventually being tapped by The Great One to come back to California, where the chef spent summers as a child. Herrmann, the son of Gilmore Girls and Lost Boys actor Edward Herrmann, is not only known for being an accomplished chef, but for an inspiring weight-loss that found the chef going from muffin man to total stud-muffin. Let’s hope Herrmann stays local, as we look forward to following the chef wherever he appears next.
