Earlier this month, Pasadena’s new Trattoria Neapolis was called out for falling short of its grand Italian ambitions, while the cocktails and pizzas were credited as worthy additions to the city. Tonight, the restaurant loosens up a little, starting a new late-night menu, served only on Fridays and Saturday after 11:00 P.M. and adding new cocktails, as well as a burlesque dancer to recall the threadbare thirties. Neapolis will still have its wood-fired pizzas on hand, but perhaps more intriguing, has a menu of skewed comfort food for the wee hours, all priced at eight dollars per dish. Included is an updated version of Hunt’s famous Manwich, using the kitchen’s short ribs, along with duck and cherry sopes, lamb sausage corn-dogs, and cocktails like a “Smoky Choke” with house-smoked Cynar and an inevitable bacon-infused bourbon and beer drink. Check out Trattoria Neapolis’ full late-night menu online.
