The brand new Kitchen Story.

Kitchen Story (3499 16th Street at Sanchez), the new all-day restaurant from the Sweet Maple/Blackwood team, opened its doors this morning in the Castro, as promised. “We had about nine people for breakfast,” owner Steven Choi tells us. “More than I expected.” This week is their quiet, soft opening, through Wednesday, after which they’ll be closed for the whole Thanksgiving weekend, reopening Monday, November 26 for their official grand opening. Take a look at how they’ve remodeled the former Tangerine space in our opening-day slideshow.

The remodel includes a newly tiled kitchen and resurfaced bar, new metal barstools, bare wood tables, and a warmer look inside meant to evoke someone’s home living room, with bookshelves and niches filled with nicknacks.

We showed you the breakfast/lunch and dinner menus the other week, Millionaire’s bacon and all. Now take a look at the space.

Kitchen Story - 3499 16th Street at Sanchez - 415-525-4945 - Open November 19 to 21 for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast and lunch served daily 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; dinner from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, and until 10:30 p.m. on weekends. Grand opening November 26.
