Ralic’s on South, the forthcoming seafooder from dirty Jerz restaurateur David Ralic has still yet to surface, but with a chef now attached to the project, an opening is imminent. A rep for Ralic tells Grub that John Anninos was recently named chef. The self-described “fishing fanatic” spent two years working on a commercial fishing boat, following stints in kitchens at Le Bec-Fin (under Bibou’s Pierre Calmels) and Striped Bass. Before trading the pots and pans for rods and reels, Anninos ran his own restaurant Morning Catch in Audubon, N.J. from 2003 to 2008. At Ralic’s on South he will serve what he describes as a “Shore-style” menu, meaning grilled, broiled and fried dishes made with fish reeled in from local waters. An opening is expected to come in December.
