Since it would be untoward of us to allow a 24-hour period to pass without some news from Umami Burger’s central command, we’re pleased to find Adam Fleischman’s 800 Degrees finally engaging in a little expansion. Unfortunately, the news won’t finally fulfill the early predictions that this flash-fired pizza concept would become the world’s next hottest chain, but nonetheless the restaurant is taking over its Westwood Village neighbor for a take-out only venture that will allow desk-jockeys to forgo the original joint’s snaking lines and take their pies on the road.

More realistically, it will help the brand deal with its insane demand while also offering products from an 800 Degrees line of products that includes Calabrian chilies in a jar and California Olive Ranch-made olive oils, with both online and phone ordering options available. A spring opening is currently in the works, and while you fire up your broilers to bring the pies back to life, 800 Degrees will be working to install itself in LAX.
