The Hola Mexico Film Festival, a feast for the eyes and ears, will be bolstered by a literal feast this spring, as five celebrated Mexican chefs are being welcomed to provide a parrillada as an edible counterpart to the eight day cinema series. On May 19, La Plaza in Downtown will find chefs like Tijuana’s Javier Plascencia, Oaxaca’s Adolfo Castellano, Toluca’s Juan Pablo Salas, and Tabasco’s Aquiles Chavez together to each prepare different carne asada-based dishes during a grand food event, with dessert provided by influential chocolatero and T.V. star Jose Ramon Castillo.

Further details are so far scant on the planned event, which was announced last week at a pre-party for the film festival, though we’re told to expect incredible food, along with the expected beer, tequila, and mariachi to keep things thumping. Stay tuned for additional details and make sure to save the date for dynamic Mexican cuisine coming straight from the source.
