If you’ve eaten at David Myers’ new Hinoki & The Bird, it’s likely that your attention was redirected every 30 seconds by the sight of bare legs skirting your table. Today we learn the pants-less uniforms on the restaurants’ hostesses was purposefully cultivated by Greg Sato and Min Young Lee, who designed the look after previous color schemes were too distracting. “You want [the uniforms] to be noticed, but you don’t want it to be the main attraction,” Sato tells The L.A. Times today, blissfully unaware that half-naked women can actually divert much of the room’s attention faster than a smoking slab of black cod.
