Juice Wars Heat Up on Abbot Kinney; Jin Patisserie Lands in Culver City
Does any Westsider really want another juice bar in place of a beautiful patisserie and tea garden like Kristy Choo's Jin? Well tough luck, because they're about to get two more of them and one is taking over the Japanese-and-French kissed confectioner. An employee of Jin reveals that Kreation Organic Juice, the six-strong chain of cold-pressed juices, nut milks, kombucha, and cleanse programs, will take over the space now that Jin has moved to a take-out-only location in Culver City. Choo, as far as we can tell, is moving on despite the forced relocation, even making jokes that at least customers "will no longer have any parking issue" at the new address. But just in case Kreation thinks it's going to swoop in and fill its coffers with yuppie money without a fight, another enterprising juice spot plans to give it a battle.
BluePrint, the juice brand derived from BluePrint Cleanse that is sold at Whole Foods and unavailable through a traditional storefront, is taking over an address on the 1400 block of Abbot Kinney to create a brand-new flagship store, with a brick and mortar location due this summer, according to Racked. BluePrint reps confirm that free samples will be passed out this Saturday from 11:30 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. along the street.
The news places two similar concepts based on juicing and organic elixirs just two blocks away from each other, as both jockey to be the supreme juice-masters of the trendy street. How they perform and who conquers could say a lot about both brands' future growth, as well as the quality of their contents. For our parts, we just wish Jin could come back and replace them both, with Moon Juice and Winward Farms taking care of all of the needs of you juice-heads.
