Though details are few, the news of Night Market’s return is still something to get excited about. Food Trust, who sponsors and hosts the immensely popular series of mobile food street fairs, sends word today that it has four fests scheduled for four different neighborhoods over the coming months. The first one takes place May 16th on Fairmount Avenue, and will be followed by a stop in West Oak Lane on June 20. On August 15, Night Market will make its debut on South Street, and then in October the series wraps up with a night in Chinatown. There’s no daye set for that one yet. Stay tuned, we’ll soon have more details on what trucks and vendors are participating.

And speaking of mobile food fests, the organizers behind Dining Out For Life, the annual fundraiser for local AIDS service organizations, returns April 25, and this year, in addition to the 150-plus restaurants participating, nine food trucks have signed on for a lunchtime round-up at 12th Street and Passyunk Avenue (just south of Morris Street). Trucks like Vernalicious, The Cow and the Curd, Spot Burgers, Delicias, Gigi’s & Big R, The Farm Truck, Cupcake Carnivale, Mac Mart, and The Sunflower Truck are lined up, and committed to donating 33 percent of the days proceeds to local AIDS services and organizations.
