Smog City Brewing Co., makers of Smog City XPA and Groundwork Coffee Porter, is now brewing in its own South Bay facility, joining Monkish Brewing and The Dudes Brewery in taking space at an industrial park in Torrance. Brewmaster John Porter founded the brewery in between his hours working at Tustin Brewing Co. In its new home, Smog City will up production to help expand distribution to local bars and restaurants. Porter will also eventually start packaging the brew, but first will open a 20-tap tasting room, currently admitting the public over limited hours on Fridays and Saturday and officially debuting at a grand-opening celebration on May 18 at 1901 Del Amo Blvd., Unit B in Torrance.
