While the much anticipated Peking Tavern is still installing kitchen equipment, the force behind Monterey Park’s well-received Duck House, John Poon and Katherine Fang, soft opened Tangerine last night in Little Tokyo’s Weller Court. Poon confirmed Tangerine is a tea house concept featuring boba drinks along with Cantonese and Taiwanese cuisine. Tangerine, which replaced the faux-Chinese noodle house Chin-Ma-Ya, will be running a 50% special until grand opening on Monday, May 6th. It’s worth mentioning Tangerine’s menu contains orange tangerine chicken as well as Taiwanese wieners. 123 Astranut E S Onizuka St Ste 202 (213) 620-0588
