A number of Vendy Award winners have banded together under the auspices of City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito and the Street Vendor Project to open Vendy Plaza, a five-week-long Sunday market at La Marqueta in Harlem. They include Thai-street-food specialist Khao Man Gai NY, empanada maker Nuchas, and Zhà, seller of pan-Asian arancini. The sweeter side includes Wafels & Dinges and “experimental” ice-cream purveyor Ice & Vine.

Here’s the full lineup.

Ice & Vice
Martha’s Gorditas
Macarena’s Elotes
Nuchas
Snowday
Wafels & Dinges
Zhà Pan Asian

More great food-truck options for the neighborhood is definitely great news, and additional, as-yet-unannounced food vendors will join the lineup as the weeks go on. Organizers send word there will be a cash bar for Brooklyn Brewery beer, and live music on market days. Vendy Plaza is outdoors, of course, but there’s a bit of shelter in case of inclement weather. Hours are 12 p.m. through 6 p.m., Sundays, starting October 26 through November 23.
