On Monday we looked at the latest in dining among L.A.’s beach cities but we already have the highlights of our 2011 edition. Malibu Times sorts through some local water control paperwork to report that Nobu Malibu is moving to the former Windsail restaurant space on the Malibu Pier while Puck will be taking over the PierView restaurant with a concept of his own, the first in Malibu since his Granita closed in 2005. While leases are yet to be signed and permits yet to be obtained (though Jonathan Gold’s bro apparently gave the waste-water treatment system a thumbs up), press relations agency Fiona Hutton & Associates confirms the plans, offering “They’re shooting for an opening in summer 2011.” Big news for two of L.A.’s biggest restaurant names. With Cafe Habana on its way this summer and Puck and Nobu to follow next year, seaside dining should never be the same in L.A.
